It’s time to knock the dust off your winter gear – ski season has arrived in Northern California!

This week’s monster snowstorm that brought 70 inches to Mammoth Mountain, 30 inches to Mount Shasta, and 4 feet of snow to Tahoe mountains has enabled 8 ski resorts to open early for the 2022-23 season. Mammoth Mountain was the first to open on November 5th. Now, the Tahoe ski resorts are opening in droves with plenty of snow to accommodate the early ski season.

The upcoming week will likely see more mountains opening, and with a big Thanksgiving storm on the horizon, the rest will probably follow suit. Here’s the updated list of ski resorts that are open, and the upcoming opening dates for the others:

  • Mammoth – Open
  • Boreal – Open
  • Mt. Rose – Open
  • Dodge Ridge – Open
