Police Officer Makes an Unlikely Friend on a Lake Tahoe Roadway

Late at night on patrol in South Lake Tahoe, graveyard officers encountered an unexpected sight. What they initially mistook for a small rock in the roadway turned out to be a tiny owl.

It turns out, the small animal just wanted to make a friend

Thinking the owl was in despair, the officers circled back to aid the little creature. One of the officers gently scooped up the owl, and to their surprise, it didn’t seem to mind at all. The owl calmly climbed up the officer’s arm and perched on his shoulder. Obviously, he had to capture the moment on camera:

After the photo was taken, the owl, apparently content with the brief visit, took flight and disappeared into the night.

It’s always fun making a new friend.
