Record Heat Wave Pounds Northern California

After enjoying a cold, wet winter, Northern California temperatures are beginning to transform into typical summer temperatures, with record heat hitting a couple different areas on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service released the numbers yesterday showing the Redding Airport and Sacramento Executive Airport breaking their previous temperature records for that date. Redding exceeded its previous heat record by an astounding 5 degrees:

These temperatures are certainly commonplace in the valley, but its the spring date that makes it so incredible. The average first 90 degree days are May 13th in Sacramento and May 4th in Redding.

The heat will continue through Thursday this week, with the valley once again seeing 90 degree temperatures:

So much for spring!
