The Massive Glowing Lantern Festival is Returning to Redding—Here’s What to Expect

Turtle Bay Exploration Park is lighting up Redding once again with its 2nd Annual Glowing Wild Lantern Festival, opening April 4 and running select nights through June 8, 2025. This year’s festival celebrates the “Year of the Snake” and transforms 10 acres of the beautiful Turtle Bay Arboretum and Gardens near the iconic Sundial Bridge into a dazzling lantern showcase.
Visitors will experience stunning, all-new lantern displays featuring ocean wildlife, North American species, and an array of colorful bugs, flowers, and birds. Notable highlights include a giant octopus, a vibrant coiled blue dragon, and a striking cobra, among other impressive creations.

Interactive fun includes themed music, glowing swings and bubbles, and animations enjoyable for all ages. The festival also welcomes back the Cornerstone Community Stage, sponsored by Cornerstone Community Bank, featuring performances from local and regional artists, martial arts demonstrations, and appearances from Turtle Bay’s animal ambassadors. Eastern Ways Martial Arts will kick off opening night festivities with traditional lion dances from 7:15 to 8:15 pm.
Guests can savor themed culinary delights from Mosaic Restaurant, including woodfired pizza, orange chicken, yuzu beignets, boba tea, and specialty cocktails such as the Lotus Margarita.

All proceeds from Glowing Wild support Turtle Bay’s mission to foster education, cultural awareness, and conservation initiatives. Tickets, including premium packages and exclusive lounge experiences, are now available at turtlebay.org.
