WATCH: Bear Gets Swept Downstream Trying to Swim Across the Raging Yuba River

Over the past weekend in Nevada County, a black bear was spotted getting carried downstream by the South Yuba River. The incident was shared by Mike Stewart, the Fire Chief of Washington, California, through a video on Saturday.

The video displayed the swift currents of the river. According to Stewart, the adult black bear attempted to cross the river within the vicinity of the town of Washington. He pointed out that, despite the challenging conditions, the bear’s swimming skills far surpass those of a human, stating that it’s doubtful a human could have survived such an ordeal.

Fortunately, the bear managed to make its way to the other side of the river successfully.
