Whiskeytown Lake Beaches Reopen with Major Upgrades for Summer Season

Whiskeytown Lake’s popular swim beaches are better than ever as Brandy Creek Beach, Oak Bottom Beach, and East Beach officially open for the summer season!
Extensive improvements were made to enhance the visitor experience ahead of opening day. Crews placed and groomed new sand at all three beaches, creating a smoother, more inviting shoreline. At East Beach, the once-steep slope into the water was carefully regraded, making access to the lake much easier and safer for families.

Additional upgrades included freshly painted picnic tables and pressure-washed restrooms to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Park officials are proud of the hard work put into revitalizing these beloved swim spots and encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the refreshed facilities.
Visitors are reminded that while Whiskeytown Lake is a generally dog-friendly and drink-responsible park, alcohol and dogs are not allowed on the designated swim beaches. With these upgrades complete,
Whiskeytown Lake remains one of Northern California’s premier family-friendly summer destinations. Grab your beach gear and come see the improvements for yourself!
