X Games Postpone Northern California Debut

The highly anticipated X Games event scheduled for August 22-24 at Cal Expo in Sacramento has been postponed, organizers announced on Friday. This delay comes as the company shifts its focus to launching the X Games League, a new global competition platform intended to revolutionize action sports.

Originally planned as a three-year commitment to Sacramento, the future of the event beyond this postponement remains uncertain.

Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games, described the postponement as a “strategic pause,” emphasizing the league’s commitment to enhancing the experience for athletes, fans, and host cities.

“Sacramento has been an incredible host city, and we’re grateful for the support and enthusiasm from the city,” Bloom said.
Local leaders expressed mixed feelings but remain optimistic.

Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty noted, “While we’re bummed the X Games are postponed, we look forward to an epic X Games 2026.”

New dates for the postponed event have not been announced. Further details about the X Games League are expected this fall.
