Yosemite Invites Public to Help Shape Changes to the Popular Mist Trail

Yosemite National Park is launching a 30-day public comment period for its Mist Trail Corridor Project, inviting feedback on potential enhancements along one of the park’s most popular trails. Open through November 23, 2024, this comment period provides an opportunity for the public to help shape improvements along the scenic Mist Trail, which sees 85,000 visitors each summer at its Happy Isles trailhead.

The project aims to address critical areas such as safety, wayfinding, stewardship, and visitor education, ensuring that the trail can sustainably accommodate its high visitor volume. Proposed improvements also focus on adding amenities to enhance the experience for hikers while preserving the natural landscape.

As part of the planning process, Yosemite will host a virtual public meeting on November 13, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. PST. This session will allow attendees to learn more about the project and share their input directly with park officials.
