Yosemite to Open All 13 Campgrounds for the First Time in 5 Years

For the first time in five years, all 13 campgrounds at Yosemite National Park will be open this summer, adding roughly 500 campsites just in time for the peak travel season.

Park officials say the move will provide more opportunities for visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Yosemite during its busiest months.

The next wave of openings begins June 20 with White Wolf Campground, followed by Tamarack Flat on June 23. Both are located along the scenic Tioga Road. Yosemite Creek Campground will open July 1, with reservations for sites 1–40 going live Tuesday at 7 a.m.

Visitors should note that these campgrounds offer only basic amenities. Drinking water is not available at White Wolf, Tamarack Flat, or Yosemite Creek, though vault or portable toilets are on site.

Opening dates for Bridalveil Creek, Porcupine Flat, and Tuolumne Meadows campgrounds are still pending. However, the remaining Yosemite campgrounds are already open and accepting reservations online.

As always, campers are encouraged to book early and prepare for rustic conditions, especially in high-country locations.
