One Dead After Small Plane Crash Near South Lake Tahoe
A small plane crashed near South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday afternoon resulting in one death and another person being airlifted to the hospital. The crash occurred off Rainbow Road in Meyers, California around 3:30 pm.
The Cessna Skyhawk II crashed into a wooded area and the origin or destination of the plane is currently unknown. The El Dorado County Sheriff arrived at the scene to find single engine plane crumpled and upside down in a wooded area. The surviving passenger on the plane was flown to Renown Hospital in Reno and their condition is currently unknown.
The El Dorado County Sheriff is currently working with the Federal Aviation Association and The National Transportation Safety Board to conduct an investigation on the incidents.
