Snowboarders Get First Tracks of the Season on Mammoth Mountain

Eager snow enthusiasts at Mammoth Mountain didn’t want to wait for the official winter season to begin. After a recent storm blanketed the area with up to four inches of fresh snow, passionate snowboarders took to the slopes for some early-season action.

This pre-season excitement was fueled by a storm that swept through California and Nevada over the weekend, depositing the first significant snowfall of the season on the region. Here’s a look at the tracks from the Mammoth Mountain Snowman:

Last year, Mammoth had to wait until October 23rd to receive its first substantial snowfall, a season that was memorable for its challenges. This year, it’s a different story. Just 59 days after the conclusion of the 22/23 season, the start of the 23/24 season is now just 37 days away. Mammoth Mountain is scheduled to open its slopes on November 10th, 2023, and these early tracks in Cornice Bowl have already set the stage for an exciting winter ahead.
